A creamy, savory, and easy-to-make Cream Cheese Chicken Stuffing Casserole made with Stove Top stuffing and perfect for weeknight dinners or freezer meals.
Ingredients
3 cups cooked shredded chicken
1 box (6 oz) Stove Top stuffing mix, chicken flavor
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (optional)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, mix chicken, cream cheese, soup, sour cream, broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Fold in frozen vegetables, if using, and spread mixture evenly into the baking dish.
4. Prepare stuffing according to package instructions using butter and hot water, then layer on top of the chicken mixture.
5. Bake uncovered for 30 to 35 minutes until hot and bubbly. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
You can assemble this casserole a day ahead and refrigerate it until ready to bake.
To freeze, wrap tightly in foil after baking and store for up to 3 months.
Swap cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom or celery if preferred.
