Description
Crispy fried chicken tenders with honey dip made from scratch. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for family dinners or weekend cravings.
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds chicken breast tenders or strips
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon water
1 ½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
Vegetable oil for frying (about 2 cups)
Honey Dip:
½ cup honey
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. In a bowl, mix chicken tenders with buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, pepper, and paprika. Marinate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
2. Set up 3 bowls: flour, whisked eggs with water, and breadcrumbs.
3. Coat chicken in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Press to adhere.
4. Heat ½ inch oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on wire rack.
5. Mix honey, mustard, mayo, vinegar, and salt in a small bowl for the dip. Serve warm with tenders.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the pan while frying to maintain crispiness.
Marinate longer for deeper flavor and tender texture.
Use panko for extra crunch or bake at 425°F for a lighter version.
