Description
These crispy oven baked chicken tenders are coated in seasoned panko breadcrumbs and baked to golden perfection. They’re juicy inside, crispy outside, and perfect for weeknight dinners or dipping fun.
Ingredients
2 pounds chicken tenderloins
1 cup unseasoned panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large egg
1 tablespoon water
Cooking spray or olive oil
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Toast panko for 4 minutes on a greased baking sheet until golden.
2. Raise oven to 450°F. Pat chicken dry.
3. Mix panko with oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Whisk egg with water in a separate bowl.
5. Dip each chicken strip in egg, then in panko. Place on greased wire rack.
6. Spray tops with oil and bake 12–14 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
7. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
To make gluten-free, use gluten-free panko.
For extra flavor, add grated parmesan or fresh herbs to the breadcrumb mixture.
