Description
A creamy, flavorful garlic herb butter chicken linguine perfect for a fast and comforting weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
12 oz linguine pasta – cooked al dente
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast – sliced thin
4 tbsp unsalted butter – divided
5 cloves garlic – minced
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried parsley
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
1 cup chicken broth
¾ cup heavy cream
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice – optional
Fresh parsley – garnish
Instructions
1. Cook linguine in salted water until just al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear sliced chicken for 3–4 minutes per side with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Remove and set aside.
3. Add remaining butter and minced garlic to the pan. Cook 1 minute, then stir in thyme, basil, and parsley.
4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Add heavy cream and parmesan. Stir until sauce thickens.
5. Return chicken and pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water if needed. Stir in lemon juice and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
Use pre-cooked chicken for an even faster meal.
Freshly grated parmesan melts better than pre-shredded.
