Description
This air fryer copycat Chick Fil A sandwich is crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch without deep frying.
Ingredients
2 boneless chicken breasts, sliced into thinner cutlets
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Cooking spray
4 soft sandwich buns
Dill pickle slices
Instructions
1. Place the chicken in a bowl with buttermilk, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes to tenderize and flavor the meat.
2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, paprika, and garlic powder until evenly combined.
3. Remove the chicken from the marinade, let excess drip off, then press firmly into the flour mixture so the coating sticks well.
4. Place the coated chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
5. Cook at 375°F for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and fully cooked.
6. Place the cooked chicken on soft sandwich buns and top with dill pickle slices before serving.
Notes
Letting the chicken marinate longer improves tenderness and flavor.
Pressing the coating firmly creates a crispier texture.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer for best results.
Reheat in the air fryer to maintain crispiness instead of using a microwave.
