Description
Crispy Garlic Butter Fried Chicken Tenders with a golden crust and juicy inside, finished with a rich garlic butter coating.
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken tenders
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
salt and pepper
oil for frying
4 tbsp butter
3 garlic cloves
Instructions
1. Mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl for the coating
2. Whisk eggs and buttermilk in a separate bowl until smooth and well combined
3. Dip chicken tenders into the wet mixture, then coat evenly in the flour mixture, pressing lightly for better coverage
4. Heat oil over medium heat and fry chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked
5. Remove chicken and place on a rack to keep the coating crisp and prevent sogginess
6. Melt butter over low heat and add minced garlic, cooking briefly until fragrant without browning
7. Brush or drizzle garlic butter over the tenders while hot so the flavor settles into the crust
8. Let rest briefly before serving to allow the coating to stay crisp and stable
Notes
Using cornstarch helps create a lighter and crispier coating compared to flour alone
Always fry in batches to maintain oil temperature and ensure even cooking
Add garlic butter after frying to avoid softening the crust
Reheat in an oven or air fryer to bring back crispiness instead of using a microwave
