Ingredients
2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized cubes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
wooden or metal skewers
Instructions
1. Place chicken pieces in a bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and toss until lightly coated.
2. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper until smooth.
3. Thread chicken pieces onto skewers, leaving a small gap between each piece for even cooking.
4. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat and place skewers in the pan.
5. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, turning occasionally until chicken begins to brown lightly.
6. Brush or pour the teriyaki sauce over the skewers during cooking, allowing it to simmer and thicken.
7. Continue cooking until the glaze becomes glossy and slightly sticky and the chicken is fully cooked.
8. Remove from heat and let rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
Mix the sauce well so the sugar fully dissolves before cooking.
Cook on medium heat to prevent the glaze from burning.
Apply sauce gradually for a thicker, more even coating.
