Description
Instant Pot Honey Ginger Sesame Chicken with tender chicken pieces coated in a sweet and savory sauce with fresh ginger and sesame.
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp ginger
3 garlic cloves
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
sesame seeds
green onions
Instructions
1. Turn Instant Pot to sauté mode and lightly sear chicken for 3–4 minutes to build flavor
2. Mix honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and vinegar, then pour over chicken
3. Seal lid and cook on high pressure for 8–10 minutes, then allow natural release for a few minutes
4. Open lid and switch back to sauté mode to begin thickening the sauce
5. Mix cornstarch with water and add slowly while stirring until sauce thickens and coats the chicken
6. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until glossy, then turn off heat and garnish before serving
Notes
Searing the chicken first adds more depth but can be skipped if short on time
Always thicken the sauce after pressure cooking, not before
If sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of water while reheating
Use fresh ginger for best flavor and balance
